Tomato and pesto sandwich

For 4 sandwiches


  • 8 slices of fresh or grilled white bread
  • Mayonnaise
  • 3 large tomatoes, sliced
  • Store-bought pesto
  • Ground salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil or lettuce


  • Toast the bread, if you wish.
  • Spread a bit of mayonnaise and pesto on each slice of bread and arrange tomato slices.
  • Salt and pepper, and add a basil or lettuce leaf.
  • Close the sandwich.
