Première fournée de weston
The weston story / 1897
In the fall of 1897, George Weston unveils his new, ultra-modern "Model Bakery." It's soon turning out more bread than any other bakery in Canada. While the Model Bakery makes no less than 30 different kinds of bread, it's Weston's "Real Home-Made Bread" that's still the most popular. In fact, it's Toronto's best-selling loaf. A year later, Garfield Weston is born to George and Emma Maud Weston in the small apartment above the bakery. George takes his newborn son down to the bakery floor to "put him in the smell of bread," transferring that love of bread making from one generation to the next.
